Discussion on Authority and Obedience in Islam

If the ruler is immoral,

drinks alcohol,

commits adultery,

commits sodomy,

acts unjustly,

and commits every evil deed

except disbelief,

then it is not permissible to rebel against him,

rather, he must be advised.

They take nothing from Islam except, “Obey and those in authority.” “Obey those in authority.”

Then why don't you look at “Obey Allah” first, and “Obey the Messenger”?

Why is that? Why is that the one that is so obvious to you?

Why is that the one that is obvious

to you? Why?

Whenever he comes and tells you, “And those in authority, obey.” Sheikh, tell him to understand as well.

Allah did not grant the ruler independent obedience.

He said, “Obey Allah and obey the Messenger,” and He did not say,

“And obey those in authority.” Rather, He said, “And those in authority,” without repeating

obedience, to indicate that obedience to

the ruler is part of obedience to Allah and obedience to

the Messenger.

We do not want patchwork. Take Islam as a whole.

Take it from its very foundation. Take Islam as a whole.

It is all one.
