Globalization and Nationality in Football
I think there are 11 Spanish players born in Spain in other national teams
and I understand that one in four players at the World Cup was not born in the country they are representing.
Do you think that fluidity in nationality is something that enriches the World Cup?
Yes, above all, because it's what we have.
Surely, in other times, it would have surprised us,
but in the times we live in, right?
That is what they called globalization at the time
and it has brought wonderful things.
And I think one of them is precisely that.
The mixture, the crossing of races, living against ideology, races, beliefs.
I think that is wonderful.
And that is what you see.
Football, moreover, which brings people together and is always an example of values of coexistence,
we show the world that it is possible,
beyond sports, also coexistence, normal and natural.
We use football to send this message.
And, having said this, I am glad it is so.
And, above all, when someone feels identified
and loves the country that has welcomed him and the society integrated with him.
I think it's fantastic.

Me parece fantástico.
