Innovative Invention for Opening Bags

Hello, first of all, I'm trainee Murad Taher Al-Hosawi.

From Al-Kharj Technical College, majoring in electrical power.

Okay, uh, the problem is, now, when we go

to the supermarket or to large markets,

we have trouble opening bags. Most often, you see people

uh, l-l-licking their fingers to o-open the bag,

or you see some people putting a sponge next to the cashier so they can open the bag

to moisten their finger. Uh, the idea we came up with is two rings.

Uh, we printed them with a 3D printer and put

double-sided adhesive tape on them, so that

when I wear one on each finger and place them on the bag

from both sides, I can open the bag quickly. Thank God, it’s a

simple idea, and thank God, we obtained a patent number for it, and also, uh,

we entered it in a l-local competition and qualified

for the global competition. Uh, okay, the idea is that I’m one of the people who

suffer from, uh, rough hands, uh,

So I have a lot of trouble opening bags.

So, praise be to God, when I entered college and started printing,

the idea came to me. I said, why not start designing rings

and putting adhesive on them? So I started little by little, developing

the idea, God willing. And God willing, it’ll e-enter the market ready, by God’s grace.

I got the bronze medal from Switzerland,

specifically Geneva, at the International Exhibition of Inventions, which includes

all the countries of the world. Of course, we had

a large number of participants from Saudi Arabia and from all over the world.

Praise be to God, we won the bronze medal and a special award as well from

China.

Of course, the college is very keen on

developing the trainees’ talents and skills.

We have, praise be to God, won eight

international awards, the latest at the Geneva International

Exhibition of Inventions for trainee Murad Hawsawi.

He participated with an invention, namely

opening bags, and thank God, we participated

in international exhibitions. Of course, the, uh…

The college's Talent and Innovation Club, uh...

They, uh... a-after they graduate, they'll have access

to anything in the club that can benefit them,

such as developing their innovation through a 3D

printer or Arduino. The college's experts

and our fellow engineers can also help them with

any project or innovation they're working on.
