May Allah reward you with goodness. The questioner says:
How does a servant make the Hereafter his main concern?
How long will a person remain in the Hereafter?
Answer. For all eternity, without end.
So then, which is more deserving
of a person’s aim, that he should aim for
this worldly life
with its few years, and not aim for the
Hereafter? That is one point. The second point is:
Whoever aims for the Hereafter,
the world will come to him humbled.
And whoever aims for this world,
then he will have no reward at all. So how can he deprive himself
of the great rewards?
Then Allah the Exalted has taken it upon Himself
to take care of worldly matters.
Did Allah not say:“ And whoever fears Allah,
He will make for him a way out* and provide for him from where
he does not expect”? And He said:“ Whoever desires the reward of this world,
with Allah is the reward of this world and the Hereafter.” Then the other
point is that this worldly life is a field
of cultivation for the Hereafter. Therefore it is a means. So rational people
turn to the ultimate aims,
and the means do not cut off the path before them.
