Even if all the Arabs together agreed to accept the existence of Israel and the

partition of Palestine,

we would not enter into this agreement with them. If the Arabs are truly sincere,

serious, and determined to liberate their usurped homeland,

then let them please raise it as one single outcry,

and you will be the first to visit Palestine at their head. And we, brothers,

are not among those who run battles from behind desks and telephone sets.

So when the hour comes and the bell of war and struggle rings,

you will see me myself,

along with my brothers and my sons, before you. And I, brothers,

do not say this out of show or flattery, but I say it out of firm conviction,

because if we do not defend with our blood, our very being,

and everything we possess,

our causes, then we will not be people of consequence,

and we will never amount to anything if we confine ourselves only to speeches,

statements, promises, and threats. This is not our way,

brothers, and it is not yours.

And when we speak frankly about our policy,

we do not care whether the West gets upset or the East is displeased,

because East and West have agreed on swallowing up the rights of…

We are not among those who ask for aid and loans, and we are not beggars.

For the sake of some false material issues,

but we defend a principle to which we are committed after God,

And after our Islamic creed,

that the Arabs must defend their rights.
