What is happening in Gaza

has proven that international institutions

and the international system and the international community and international law

are not able to protect any people, are not able to protect anyone.

Remember this, Lebanese people: twenty- two thousand martyrs,

nearly sixty thousand wounded,

and an international community just watching,

and then here in Lebanon someone tells you,“ Yeah, hand over your weapons,

we are protected by the international resolution,

we are protected by the international community.”

So allow me to say this is no longer a matter of differing points of view,

like,“ Well, this is one opinion and this is another and opinions are respected.”

No, this has become blindness of the heart, blindness of sight,

blindness of insight.“ For indeed, it is not the eyes

that go blind, but the hearts within the chests that go blind.”

Isn’t that the truth now?

What does this experience say? And from here I will move to the last section.

This experience says:

If you are weak, the world does not recognize you, the world does not protect you,

and the world does not defend you,

and the world does not weep for you, not even in mourning will it weep for you.

The one who protects you…

The one who protects you is your strength and courage And your fists, your weapon,

your missiles, and your presence on the battlefield. If you are strong,

you impose your respect on the world.
