The name of Iran is mentioned a thousand times,

and even a single flag is remembered.

I mean, there is this story that when I myself get to it,

I just cannot control my tears, where the enemy says,“ Take the flag from them.

If you take the flag from the Iranians, they will break.” They see it as a kind

of talisman. They say,“ If you want to defeat the Iranians, that same flag,

that same Derafsh Kaviani, take it from them.” Then everyone comes,

the enemy army attacks to seize the Derafsh Kaviani.

The Iranians— Shahnameh itself shows that for Iranians,

it does not matter from what clan or what tribe or what ethnicity they are,

they just form a ring around it.

Then they die in circles like that. They keep getting killed,

yet again they form a ring so no one can reach the Derafsh Kaviani.

And they do not reach it,

and this flag is that important to them.

I want to say that this Iranian identity

is repeatedly emphasized throughout the Shahnameh,

and over generations as we have read the Shahnameh, It has been repeatedly

engraved in our minds. That is why now, in this historical period that we are in,

people unconsciously come and say,“ Khamenei,

Zahhak, we will drag you under the ground.”
