Recent Violence in West Bank and Jerusalem

The General Authority for Civil Affairs informs the Ministry of Health of the death of

a Palestinian after settlers shot him in the town of

Kober, west of Ramallah, during an attack by settlers on

the town.

They also withheld his body. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission

announced that Israeli forces and settlers carried out 2,051 attacks

in the West Bank during last September, including

647 attacks

carried out by settlers, resulting in the deaths of three

Palestinians and the injury of 88,

including seven children and six women. They also

damaged 14,600

trees, including 9,000

334 olive trees.

Settlers fired live ammunition at farmers during

their olive harvest in the town of Beita, south of

Nablus, to disperse them and prevent them from harvesting olives from

their land.

Meanwhile, settlers attacked farmers in the towns of Asira al-Qibliya

and Urif, south of Nablus, and carried out

Attacks targeted the villages of Deir Istiya, Farkha and Hares

Qaraweh, al-Mughayyir and Ni'lin

in Ramallah

and Salfit. Settlers attacked a home on the outskirts

of the village of Iraq Burin, south of Nablus, and smashed

a vehicle, attempting to storm the home before

residents confronted them. Dozens of settlers also attacked

Palestinian homes in the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah,

under the protection of occupation forces that raided

the village

to protect them. The Jerusalem Governorate announced that

eleven thousand four hundred and nine settlers stormed

Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Jewish holidays amid an escalation in

overt religious rituals inside the mosque.

The incursions coincided with strict restrictions on worshippers

and Waqf staff, and the barring of around nine hundred

Palestinians from Al-Aqsa since the start of the year.

Alongside a heavy deployment of occupation forces

and closures in the Old City

and around Al-Aqsa.
