Announcement of Leader's Passing
At 30 minutes past the hour, while on-site guidance,
he passed away from a sudden illness,
we announce with deepest sorrow.
For the succession of the great Juche revolutionary cause
and its completion, he devoted his entire life,
for the prosperity of the socialist homeland and the happiness of the people,
for the reunification of the country and world peace,
he worked tirelessly day and night.
Our great Comrade Kim Jong Il
has suddenly and most regrettably
left our side.
