Poetic Farewell and Call to Jihad
It began with the cry of dawn.
Terror and death have come. The specter has crept in.
Praise be to God, who guided us to Islam and placed us
among the ranks of the Al-Qassam Brigades and enabled us to attack
and storm in, to detonate the belt and aid
the fighters in planting mines and destroying
tanks at the hands of the noble, and bringing down
aircraft with Al-Qassam's strikes, and made us
among the winners of the gardens of the Lord of all creation. I am your brother in
God, the living martyr, God willing. Ibrahim Abd
al-Wazi' Mayouf Abdullah.
A lion of war, unafraid, with arms in which
the eagle has come from the rock. These crowds bowed
before it, trampling skulls
and skins. We returned with them across the border in
the prisoners' grasp.
As for my first message, I address it to the apple of my heart
and the delight of my eyes. To you, tender one. To you, who
stayed awake at night for my comfort. To you, who
were my tender heart. To you, who were my best support.
And who bore so very much for me with your patience and steadfastness.
You were indeed the finest, most tender mother, a school for all
the lost, and an example for all who love one another. To you, O
Mother, I recite these verses of my poetry, perhaps
they will comfort you after I am gone. This is the path
we have laid out and the course we have charted. Mother, if
reunion is difficult, be patient. My heart, my
beloved, was not hard, but one like me cannot
settle down while the wound in the body of the faith bleeds.
Mother, my tears have begun to flow. Do not
think that I have left you coldly.
Being with you was a garden
and a paradise for you,
my soul, a garden.
To that patient, persevering woman. To the one who was my greatest help
and greatest support in my life. To you, my dear wife,
I write these words, hoping with all my heart that you will remain steadfast
and patient. This is the course we have known and the path we have
charted. We have no honor except through jihad. So be
as I knew you, the finest example of a mother and
a wife, preserving the Book of your Lord and adhering
to the Sunnah of your Prophet by following the radiant path of Sharia.
Be an example in raising our daughter Abrar along the path
laid out for us by the Master of Creation, our master Muhammad, peace and blessings
be upon him.
Do not despair at misfortunes,
they are the salt of a bright path.
Do not despair, remain steadfast.
For dawn is the promise of reunion.
Do not grieve over our parting.
For truth is an honest word.
No servant who hoped was ever disgraced.
To my beloved brothers. To you, who were my impregnable shield,
with your kindness and love for me. I urge you to fear God and observe
congregational prayer at the mosque, for by God, it is the path of the sincere believer
to his Lord, and through it come prosperity and success.
In eternal Paradise, I live in a thousand worlds and more.
Whatever you ask of me, my striving comes
through wounds. Whoever
truly seeks glory
does not mind
wounds.
