Director Discusses Film Challenges and Success

Uh.

You saw the collections, and I hope it repeats for this

film as well.

Mr. Rahul, every one of your films is quite experimental.

It requires putting in a lot of effort. As a director,

how do you take on such challenges? What's your thinking career-wise?

What is it?

From film to film.

Well, for me— whether a film is small or big, whatever kind of film

I make, I make it with a lot of

hard work, sir. I mean, I put in a bit of extra effort

in every department and every detail. I go over everything ten times before making it.

So, rather than making an average film, I take much more time

to make a film, so I ensure that the film I make is just as powerful.

That's why I take that much time for writing it.

So, rather than doing two or three films back-to-back, even if I have to wait four years

one

My aim is to make a film that will be remembered for forty years.

So, your previous film, Shyam Singha Roy, wasn't as successful as you expected,

right? So, were there any lessons from that

that helped with this film?

My previous film was more successful than I expected.

I mean, success is—

how do we view it, in terms of numbers?

As I see it, even now, when that film's name is mentioned, the respect I receive

is something I know.
