And they stayed for 300 years. Egypt is a graveyard for invaders,

because any occupier who entered Egypt stayed there for hundreds of years,

settling in, living it up, having sex, getting married, drinking tea, and having children.

His children grew up, and he became their grandfather. He came as a 20-year-old fighting soldier,

and died on Egyptian soil at 80 or 90, and was buried in Egypt.

So isn't it a graveyard for invaders? There are many examples of that, and many occupiers.

For instance, the Hyksos occupied Egypt for 108

years. The Libyans next door occupied Egypt for 200 years,

the Assyrians from Iraq ruled it for 16 years, and the Persians from Iran

occupied Egypt for 120 years. Then the Persians

left and came back to occupy it again for another 11 years, because they

really liked it. The Greeks initially occupied Egypt for

two years,

then they found they liked it. The Greek Ptolemies came in and ruled it for

300 years.

The Romans, under Octavius, occupied Egypt for

360 years, then the Byzantines came.

They got rid of the Romans and stayed in their place for 310 years.

Then the Islamic conquest got us rid of the Byzantines,

and they stayed.

Then came the Mamluks, who stayed in Egypt for 700 years, including

actual rulers, army commanders, and ministers.

Then the Turks came and got us rid of the Mamluks

and stayed for 300 years. Then came the French occupation

and lasted three years. We said the French stayed in Egypt for three

years, after which came

the British occupation, which stayed in Egypt for 72 years, then came

the Israeli occupation, which occupied Sinai from 67 until now.
