Discussion on Rights and Empathy

行き過ぎだと言う人もいます、

Some say we've gone too far,

時代の流れに逆らっていると。

that we're going against the current,

しかし、私は皆さんに問いかけたい 。

but I would like to ask you,

権利を認めることが、いつから 過激なことになったのでしょうか？

when did recognising rights become something radical?

共感することが、いつから 例外的なことになったのでしょう か？

When did empathy become something exceptional?

スペインは何よりも、人々を温かく 迎え入れる国であり、

Spain is above all a welcoming country,

これこそが私たちの選ぶ道です。

and this is the path we choose.

尊厳、

Dignity,

共同体、そして正義。

community and justice.
