Aaron Ramsey out of Pumas — that's right, friends at Fox, good to see you.
The bad news continues here at Cantera, and we have been able to confirm
that Pumas has terminated Aaron Ramsey's contract, that's right,
the board made the decision after the Welshman had been absent
for days without the university side's permission.
We should remember and recap: during the FIFA window he had been called up,
his national team selected Ramsey. Even so — and this was with the board's permission —
he decided to attend with his national team to speak with the coaching staff,
to make himself available ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
But then his pet went missing here in Mexico
and because of this he decided to remain there for additional days in Europe.
Those additional days were not granted by the board.
This caused displeasure among the top leadership of Club Universidad Nacional,
even in the locker room with the players themselves.
And so it was this week, when Aaron Ramsey had already returned
to continue his rehabilitation from his injury, which would, yes, sideline him,
for the rest of the season, but which, after all, he had to carry out here
his rehabilitation, it was then that the university club notified him
that for being absent without permission they would terminate his contract.
So Aaron Ramsey is no longer part of the Pumas.
