Analysis of US Military Spending and Strategy
So how is this even possible?
The U.S. has used virtually all of its long-range precision missiles
during its five-month war with Iran.
Much of the five months we've been in a ceasefire,
we've been in negotiation.
So really effectively, we've run out in about three months' time.
Prior to February 27th, you could see there in the gray,
that was the gray bar, showing that we had Patriot missiles,
about 2,300 Patriot missiles.
And then at the ceasefire on April 8th,
we had a thousand left.
So we wasted over half of the inventory
between February 27th and April 8th.
We're looking at six weeks.
depleted half.
It takes years to rebuild these.
And the fastest way to collapse an empire
is to send that empire off to endless wars
that the empire cannot sustain.
And now we are at the brink of
potentially being able to collapse.
I mean, you've had a lot of different empires over the years,
really strong empires lose because of military adventurism.
The Roman Empire, Spanish Empire, the French First Empire,
the British Empire, the German Empire, the Nazi Germany Empire,
the Empire of Japan, the Soviet Union,
the Ottoman Empire, the list goes on.
Empires fall because of military adventurism and waste.
And you've got Congress that is completely bought off
by foreign interests and military industrial complex interests.
And here we are on the brink of
not being able to defend ourselves for an actual war
that we might really need to truly be in.
How is it that we spend a trillion dollars a year
and yet we have run out of long-range missiles?
And the reason why we don't have very many long-range missiles
is because the United States has been focused on short military excursion.
That is what the United States has
focused all of its energy on since World War II.
How much money have we spent since World War II?
We've spent, as Americans, 30 to 35% trillion dollars
on the military and you mean to tell me
that in three months we've run out?
So that puts us in the position where
now Trump is asking for creative ways to punish Iran
from the military and we're spending a trillion dollars a year on this.
I mean what are we getting for this money?
We're getting swindled is what we're getting.
