AI-Generated Ideal Day for Child Development
probably a huge
mistake and i will probably delete this video i trained an ai to be a phd
level developmental psychologist and then i just set it loose no
boundaries no cultural rules give me the
ideal day for a child to develop into a healthy adult i told that if you want them
to be in school for 12 hours a day or not at all that's fine you want them to stare
at a blank white wall all day go ahead and this
is what it came up with which to be honest is not surprising
at all to me a person getting their phd in developmental psychology who researches
parenting for a living first hour of the day no
alarms just morning slow mornings regulation
connection low dopamine then they go to school right john no
unstructured outdoor free play for two
to four hours next up you have an hour to two hours of what
they call social play and conflict so this is like play at the park where they're
with a kid or like in any environment where they're having to
navigate peer relationships again no adult intervention just the kids working it
out next up focused skill building which is like school right
so it's learning how to read or piano or maths or whatever and it's 30 to 90 minutes
total not six hours 30 to 90 minutes
of focused education and skill building and that includes things again that are like
fine arts not just education but like all
forms That's it That's all they're gonna get for the rest of the day Okay then we
have meaningful contribution which is like chores right So this is like housework
Anything that makes them feel like
they're a contributing member of the family Wait for this next one boredom
Just boredom two hours Scattered around just boredom
is important I'm bored I don't know come up with something Then we
return to physical play and movement which is very similar to outdoor unstructured
free play notice how this is like Capstoning the day like they're
like six hours is what you're getting there And that doesn't even count like the
two hours here or one to two hours here with friends Like this is just Guaranteed
necessary then again evening
connection and story This is like with you especially the story piece telling
the story of the day Revisiting the day like thinking about their memories like all
that's really important This is also
where you could do like reading to your kids and then sleep for 10 to 12 hours
Now compare this to
the average day which you can pause
to read this
You notice the
difference something that was supposed to get 60 to 90 minutes is getting 7 plus
2 like 7 to 9 hours something that got like 9 hours
gets 30 to 60 minutes but John how are they gonna ever learn how to read if
they only have 30 to 90 minutes
Research actually shows us that that's enough Like that's all you need going back
to this average day The craziest part of
this to me is that parents who send their kids to school are actually doing as
much homeschool as homeschoolers You're just doing that on top of the seven hours
that they already did Anyway like I said I'm probably gonna delete this so take a
