How to Tell True Dandelions From False Dandelions
Be warned, there is a false dandelion.
And the false dandelion, you can tell it's very different from the
true dandelion. The true dandelion is always very pointed.
The leaves are very pointed, like the lion's teeth.
Mm-hmm.
But the false dandelion, it looks like this, but the
leaves are, but the points are rounded.
And this is smooth, whereas the false dandelion has little
furs on it. The true dandelion plant will send up
one flower stalk and have one flower, and the
stem will be hollow. My children used to pick them
and use them as straws.
But the false dandelion, the stem goes up, it's not
hollow, and it can, it can divide into sometimes
two or three flowers. Even though the flower looks the same
and the leaf looks very similar, but if you know those
points, you can tell the difference between the
false-
Mm-hmm
... and the true dandelion
