Exploring Themes of Blame and Identity

If it's genocide. Lay it on me. If it's

apartheid. Lay it on me. If it's ethnic

cleansing. Lay it on me. If you're a capitalist,

I'll be your communist.

If you're a communist, I'll be your

capitalist pig.

If you're a Nazi,

I'll be your inferior race.

If you think I murdered your God, I'll take the

blame. Whatever

lies in the deepest, darkest

depths of your soul, take it out.

Lay it on me.

Need a banker, need a thief, need a parasite.

Need a disease, need a puppet, need a king.

Whatever fits, I'll be that thing.

Every age, another crime. Different

story every time.

Whatever lies in the deepest,

darkest depths of your soul, take it

out.

Lay it on me.

If your world starts falling down.

If your empire hits the ground. If the

mirror feels too true. I've got a face

you can pin it to.

Whatever lies in the deepest,

darkest depths of your soul, take it

out.

Lay it on me.

The left, the right, the church, the Marxists, the

Islamists. Different centuries, different

costumes. Same old play.

Lay it on me.
