Military Legal Protocols in Israel
Here's another one One of the things we do with the judges when we go
to Israel is we meet with the mags Those are the military advocate generals.
It's like our Jags.
They call the mags These mags
are deployed in the field with the commanders,
but unlike in America where a Jags advice is precatory It's aspirational.
You can follow it if you want,
but the commander can disregard it in Israel the mags advice is a mandatory
order that must be followed and we have seen dozens and dozens of videos
where the pilot of a drone or a plane is over a clear Hamas target.
Guys were, you know,
holding their firearms and their rocket propelled grenades.
And the pilot comes over and says, I'm ready to strike.
And then something astonishing happens.
Some nerdy Jewish lawyer comes over the airwave and says, hey,
what's that on the top right part of the screen?
What's that on the bottom left of the screen?
Two children playing soccer 50 meters away.
Three women holding a loaf of bread. Strike canceled.
over and over again in Gaza,
legitimate military strikes right before our eyes were canceled because
of the need to preserve and protect the enemy's civilian population.
And that's why, as John Spencer has written,
as Richard Kemp in England has written,
Israel has the lowest militant to civilian kill ratio in the history
of urban warfare,
and yet it is Israel that is being dragged before the ICC and ICJ on
preposterous claims of genocide.
Ask yourselves why.
