World Trade Center Collapse Analysis
Speaking at 8:30. You know, Stacy, we were talking earlier, as many of us have,
that w-we remember it, of course, when the World Trade Center
was bombed several
years ago, and there was a, you know, the, the, the amount of
explosives did not bring that building-
No
... those buildings to, to the ground.
And we saw these planes crash today, and then saw these buildings fall.
People were questioning exactly what happened, what could have caused it.
We have a World Trade Center engineer who has a comment.
They're very strong buildings, as you remember from the, uh,
blast the last time,
so,
uh, I know-
But what, what does it take as an engineer to do
the--
Oh, no.
Let's get out of here.
Go, go. Go, move. Go, move. Go, move
it.
Move it. Move it. Come on.
Back, get the building.
As this man is standing here saying they're very strong buildings, and that he
expected them to continue to stand, we, we in the background see the buildings
collapse, which again feeds that feeling that there
was something else,
that there may have been something else that brought those buildings down.
There was a lot of talk there in New York of a, of a, another explosion prior to
the collapse of the first building.
When we talk about the World Trade Center also, we should say that we're really
talking about, as, uh, my notes here show, seven buildings, including the two
Twin Towers, those, uh, huge structures, one hundred and ten stories
tall. Uh, there was also a 47-story office building,
which
you told the viewers earlier this evening, Patrice, has also come crashing to the
ground.
Mm-hmm.
It caught fire through all of this and, uh, finally succumbed to the fire itself,
and it came crashing down. Um, there's also an eight-story US
Customs office and a 12-story hot-- uh, 22-story hotel
all in that complex, but right now, those three buildings, the two big
towers have down to the ground, and now also the 47-story office building.
That's, that's almost the size of the US X Tower.
Absolutely. I mean, it's, this is, this is unbelievable.
