Their understanding is as long as it is not under 16, they think that it's okay. And if the girl is, for example, coming out of a club quite drunk, asking for a lighter, to them it's okay. She's giving the green light.

So, um, but I, I, I interpreted for a guy, um- And you've had that hap- So you've had that happen?

Yes, yes. Definitely 100%. Oh, God. I interpreted for a person at his asylum interview, and he said he was gay, but, uh, a few months later, I was called to a police station. Basically, he was waiting outside a club, I won't name it, but, um, first he assaulted a girl.

Um, I assume they were over 17 'cause they were coming out of a club- Mm ... so they had to be old enough, but university student.

But that girl managed to get away, and this guy disappeared. Couple of hours came later, came back again, and then started following this quite vulnerable girl because she was, um, high and drunk, and followed her while she was walking home. And, um, in a car park, sh- he raped her. No protection, no nothing.

And that girl was destroyed. He didn't show any remorse at all- Yeah ... not even in the court. Like, um, you know, he, he kept saying, "It's not like I killed someone."
