This waterway is extremely important not only for us and our neighbors and the countries of the region, but for the entire world.

And we have always made great efforts to safeguard safe and secure passage along this route.

And we still remain determined to ensure that transit in the Strait of Hormuz is carried out in the best way with full safety.

The Strait of Hormuz is located in the territorial waters of Iran and Oman.

Therefore, the two coastal countries consider themselves obliged to take the necessary measures

to reassure all countries regarding safe passage.

What happened on the ninth of Esfand 1404 was the result of the clear lawbreaking of America and the Zionist regime.

This attack on a coastal country, this attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, led us, in accordance with international law,

to adopt a set of measures to defend our national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.

This is an action that is permitted under international law and under Iran’s domestic law.

And therefore what Iran has done has been completely in line with its international legal obligations.

This process is ongoing, we are in constant contact with Oman and with the other relevant parties to draw up a mechanism that will fulfill this duty and achieve this goal.

We are currently negotiating.

Last week there was also a meeting between our expert teams and Oman in Muscat, and the contacts between Iran and Oman on this issue are continuing.
