Survival and Cannibalism on Nazino Island
The most infamous of these camps was the desolate island in a Siberian
river, Nazino, as known as Cannibal
Island.
On this island, the inhabitants underwent torture by
starvation
to the point that they ate each other and survived out of sheer
desperation. Almost immediately, the newcomers to the
islands were attacked and eaten. Corpses were butchered
and human flesh were being cooked and eaten.
Several bodies were found with their liver, breasts, calves, heart, and
lungs removed.
