Concerns Over Toxic Dishwasher Pods
story time on how i was slowly poisoning myself for weeks and had no idea. this started a few
months ago. anytime i would cook i would notice that the food smelled and tasted like
chemicals or
Perfume or soap or something and I couldn't figure out what it was
I convinced myself that I was smelling
This new hand soap that I had got that I was smelling it on my hands and it was making my food
Tastes like that because I was smelling it but this continued to happen every meal
I would make just tasted like chemicals. So I started every time I would cook
I ended up just throwing it away because the taste was so strong and then my stomach started hurting every time I would eat
I would get nauseous afterwards and I was like what the fuck is going on and if I would open like a cabinet where my
cups were
Smelled like it's so strong or the drawer where my pots and pans were smelled like it's so strong
but then i would ask other people do you smell it and they said no i was so confused i was soaking
my dishes in vinegar i soaked them in baking soda i soaked them in dawn dish soap i was washing
everything by hand it didn't help it still smelled and tasted like chemicals it was like a fucking
horror movie it was on everything everything tasted like it everything smelled like it no
matter what i did it wouldn't go away i felt like i was fucking losing my mind so one day i don't
know what made me think to check
I went on Costco's website where I got the dishwasher pods from and wouldn't you fucking
know, I clicked on the reviews, there are dozens of reviews of people complaining about
the same thing.
And no, I can't say for 100% certainty that my stomach issues or whatever were from the
dishwasher pods, but...
It started right after I noticed all of this happening, and when I stopped using them and cleaned my dishes, my stomach issues went away, so...
But that was the other thing. People in the reviews were saying that no matter what they did, that they couldn't get the smell and the taste off their dishes.
People were saying they had to, like, throw all of their dishes away.
I started using paper plates and plastic utensils for a long time, and eventually, after lots of Googling and reading other people's reviews,
reviews. I basically had to take the dishwasher apart, wipe everything down, use citric acid
powder. Anyways, it was a whole process. It wasn't just as simple as switching my dish
detergent. It was even doing that, everything still tasted and smelled like it. So thankfully,
I finally got it off of everything.
But it was a fucking nightmare for weeks, and how the fuck are y'all still selling these?
I was just so relieved when I read the reviews to finally have a fucking answer because I
felt like I was going crazy.
It was quite the fucking chit show for weeks.
What she's talking about is the Costco dishwasher pods and these finishing pods.
What's going on is that these pods contain this chemical.
This chemical is not FDA approved for direct food contact.
Yet it's being put in these dishwasher pods that obviously has direct contact with food.
So it's causing people to get sick, it's an endocrine disruptor, which is not good.
This chemical is also used in popular brands like Cascade, it's used in Costco, Kirkland brand.
And the thing is that there are other brands like this one that don't use this chemical
that achieve the same clean results.
So why are we using this toxic chemical when you can definitely make pods without it?
you
