Behind the Scenes of Acting Rehearsals

You get along with everybody, with James and all.

James was a great guy.

Jimmy was the best.

What I liked about working with Jimmy is that Jimmy wanted to rehearse.

So he'd pull you in his trail.

A lot of actors don't want to rehearse.

You know that.

He would put me in his trail and we would work.

And then when we were shooting, he would say to David, hold on, Vinny needs another take.

He would feel it.

When we did the scene where I'm in the boat and Sirico pushes me and all that, you know, disinformation,

I did a take.

And then David said, don't beg.

That was the only note he said to me.

Like you gave me a note the other night, don't beg.

I said, okay.

And the second take is the one we have.

There's something about real wise guys, they won't beg at the end.

I don't know why he wanted me to keep my eyes,

but Sirico took my watch and ring.
