FBI Director Defends Performance and Travel
So just to comment on the FBI director being missing in action,
and let's see if the mainstream media reports this.
My predecessors took an average of thirty-three days off a year.
I've taken half that. I've taken four days off this year.
My predecessors, like me and every other agency head of national
security, are
mandated to fly on government aircraft.
They took nearly twice as many personal trips as I ever have.
My predecessors utilized Reagan National as their own lily pad for
takeoff and landing, costing the American taxpayer three point
five million
dollars. I changed that to codify using Andrews Air Force
Base and
government airfields so the American taxpayer isn't on the hook, uh,
for their excursions. My travel is the
least of any FBI director in history when it comes to personal travel.
My engagements and business days working are the highest
of any FBI director. We've got the calendars.
We'll show them to you.
But the re-- the fact remains that I am the most present,
hardest working FBI director, and this, this
sheet shows it. When you reduce the murder rate twenty
points in this
country, that is making America safer than it's
ever been before.
When twenty percent less kids are dying from drug overdoses because you
seized
enough fentanyl to kill a quarter million Americans, that is making America safer
than it's ever been before. When you arrest and capture the top ten
most wanted
fugitives in eighteen months, all of them, that is making America more
safer than before. When you capture six of the most wanted
fraudsters in the world
who fleeced Americans of two billion dollars on four separate continents,
that's
making America the most safe it's ever been.
When you find eleven thousand child victims and locate them,
that's making America
the most safe it's ever been. And when you arrest fifty-four thousand
violent
felons, the FBI alone, a ninety percent increase in just eighteen
months, that's making America safe-- more safe than it's ever been before,
including in every single state of the days.
