Impact of Conflict on Children in Palestine and Lebanon
Whatever I've gone through is nothing compared to
what the children of Palestine and
Lebanon are going through. I think that my answer to that question is just
that instead of talking about myself, what I'd just like to remind everybody
is that today in the West Bank and in Gaza, children are being
killed as we speak here, and no one is talking about it.
And in Lebanon, they just set off a gigantic bomb
that nobody even kn-
these bombs are vaporizing people.
These are-- this is the, the, the rule of law,
the international rule of law has disintegrated with
these wars. And so I think my situation, which
is a complicated one and is positive and negative,
uh, is, is really not the story. I think the story
is, I mean, we have a lot of problems with First
Amendment rights that are not
just me, uh, in the United States, which is, would take a long
time to talk about. But I think that in answer to this, it's just
important to remember that whatever I've gone through is
nothing compared to what the children
of Palestine and Lebanon are going through, and many
other places also. But since you asked me that question,
just that.
