Caution Against Ambitious Yet Incompetent People

Be careful with ambitious people who don't have the talent.

I'm always very careful with super ambitious people who don't have the

talent,

don't have the discipline, and are not willing to work as hard as you

are.

Be very careful because in business, those are dangerous people.

Why? Because they want the title. They want the money.

They want the authority.

They want to be treated like a leader, but they don't want the burden that

comes with leadership. And when someone has big ambition but low

standards, they become political.

They start protecting their ego instead of protecting the company.

They create drama. They blame the team.

They resent the people who are actually producing.

And if you're not careful, you'll give them power because they sound

confident, but they're utter idiots. Big mistake.

Confidence without competence is dangerous.

Ambition without work ethic is dangerous.

And entitlement inside a scaling company is absolute

cancer. Hire real operators that have done it before, not people who

just want the status.
