Chris Murphy Calls Iran War Plan Insane, Warns of Escalation

The theme this week is the plan is insane, and that is not our quote.

That's a quote taken from a video. Senator Chris Murphy, a Democrat from the, I think the junior Democrat from Connecticut, and he has been briefed on the Iran war and the plans there, and he has this to say about it.

In one of these briefings, we did get the chance to have a fairly detailed conversation about what the war plan would be if we restarted military operations.

Yeah. You- you've heard a preview that it would be a short duration- Yeah ... um, plan.

I will just say this. Their plan is insane.

Um, it won't, it- Why? ... it won't, it, it, it, it will lead to devastating escalation and the likely destruction of our commitment to the rule of law.

Can you say more? I mean, there's been open reporting as to, you know, what we may be planning and the civilian infrastructure that we may be targeting.

Um, uh, I, I, I think the plan, the plan that they have, they have s- they've been asked by the president to develop a plan.

Whether they believe it, it will work or not, I do not know.

Um, but the plan that they have developed will lead, in my view, to a prolongment and an escalation of this war that will be devastating for our security interests.

Wow. It's almost like he's saying the plan isn't really insane.

The plan is suicidal. Yeah. That's what he's saying.
