Discussion on the Batman Fallacy
Listen, faggot, I developed something called the Batman
fallacy.
Would you like to hear about it? Let me explain.
It's the assumption that all retribution, all
consequences, all violence is equal,
like Batman. Batman believes if he starts killing his villains,
then he's no better than them. You're telling me that Batman
killing Joker is the same as Joker killing
a mother of four who's done nothing? That's the same?
According to Batman's own definition of not sinking to,
to their level, him killing the Joker from killing
other people is the same as the Joker killing a mother of
four in cold blood for no reason other than to provoke a reaction out of
Batman. The Batman fallacy can be applied to the
Jason Arday situation
in context to the comparative, I
guess, Charlie Kirk response, "Is it the same if I
laugh about it?" No, it's not. You see, Charlie was the
fucking best of us, wasn't he? Charlie was the moderate.
Charlie was the talker. Charlie was the understandable one,
the pragmatic one,
and when he was killed in cold blood while he was trying to talk to them,
to get them to understand, to build a common ground on
which we can all operate, where we are once again merely
humans who can disagree. It's what he was trying to create.
They killed him. Do you think it's the same
if I laugh about
Jason Arday, who swindled an entire
university in the UK? Do you think it's the same if I laugh
about that, that, as them laughing about Charlie?
It's not the same.
The Batman fallacy. You see, their heroes
are villains. They're liars, they're cheats, they're murderers,
they're George Floyd, drug addicts, felons.
They're thieves and shysters and liars,
manipulators. They're violent, they're entitled, and they
are enabled by the state. When our heroes die,
when our people die, they're kids
like Henry Novak, Charlie Kirk, Anne Whitaker, people who stood
by their convictions, good people who were trying to educate themselves,
gain something in life, doing it the honest way.
George Floyd was being arrested because he was a fucking criminal, and he
died because he was OD'ing on the drugs he was on.
So no, it's not the same. It's the Batman fallacy.
