Iran's Nuclear Threat and U.S. Policy
My whole life I've been told that Iran is getting a bomb.
Iran will be capable of producing alone, without importing
anything, nuclear bombs within three to five years.
Iran is getting a bomb.
Iran is gearing up to have, to produce twenty-five bombs,
atomic bombs, a year.
Iran is getting a bomb.
They're very close. They're six months away from being about
ninety percent of
having the rich uranium for an atom bomb.
Iran is getting a bomb.
Iran is so dangerous, weeks away from having
the fissile material
for an entire arsenal of nuclear bombs.
Iran is getting a nuclear bomb.
They have the wherewithal, the stored up, uh, preserved knowledge
to make a bomb very quickly, uh, if they wanted to do it.
And yet here in twenty twenty-five, they do not have a nuclear bomb.
If not stopped, Iran could produce a nuclear weapon.
So why should we trust the American intelligence without
verifying it? Now, the other side of the argument is,
you know, kind of, oh, Iran
is this big threat. Same people that told us that Iraq was a big threat.
There is no question whatsoever that Saddam
is seeking and is working and is advancing towards the
development of nuclear weapons. No question whatsoever.
If you take out Saddam, Saddam's regime, I
guarantee you that it will have enormous positive
reverberations on the region.
The same people that told us the Taliban was a big threat.
And the way to deal with the terrorist regimes, among other things, was to, uh,
apply military force against them, to strike them.
The way we did in, uh, Afghanistan.
The way, for example... I, I want to answer your question.
Well, I guess I'm running out of time, so I quickly was trying to get...
We've done, I think, what you proposed in Afghanistan,
yet I haven't seen that
sort of neighborhood effect.
Well, I think, I think there's been an, an enormous effect.
Uh, third nation, by the way, is Libya.
Exporting terrorism not only to every part of the Middle East, but to
Venezuela. By the way, what are we doing with Greenland?
We gotta do something with Greenland.
I'll be honest. Fine. I mean, I don't like Iran, but the evidence
shows that every single one of these people, the last couple of
decades, that is pushing for a conflict with Iran
has not just failed
miserably, has been one of the greatest catastrophes
in American foreign policy
ever. Thousands of lives needlessly lost of
Americans, millions of people
displaced, trillions of dollars spent, and let's be honest, at this particular
moment, we cannot afford this war.
