Afghan Women Discuss Islamic Hijab and Women's Rights

Hijab

is not a restriction for an Islamic woman. For a woman, it is not

a compulsion. For a woman, it is a crown. For a woman,

it is a value bestowed upon her by God. Across the entire

world, wherever courageous and honorable Afghan women

live, and we interact with them or are in

contact, we are aware of them, that they,

by observing hijab, have raised the banner of honor and dignity of the proud women of Afghanistan

in every corner... The holy religion of

Islam came, and women were able to find rights and freedom.

Democracy existed during the time of Islam, and the first cornerstone

of democracy was laid by Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

So no one is going to be restricted in our activities.

We wear the hijab and are pleased with this practice.

Because hijab is not a new phenomenon in Afghanistan that we

have only now adopted because the Emirate has arrived.

In reality, this is something that is our identity,

and we are not going to give it up for the sake of acquiring knowledge and art.

and is God's command and decree. Because hijab in the Holy Quran

is mentioned for Muslim women, and specifically Muslim women

is. And this is God's kindness to us, which

keeps us in chastity and purity. And

we must accept this value with heart and soul, and support

it. And we can say that hijab is an obligation

and responsibility, not a compulsion. And also, hijab is specifically

for Muslim women and that is all.
