Big mistake that people make is still thinking that they're the, the Jews are the chosen people. They were, rejected their inheritance.
They refused to accept Christ. Because even the Jewish religion was, uh, ultimately a lead up to and a partial revelation in relationship to Christ. So once he came-- this is why Christ was so harsh on them. St. Thomas Aquinas actually makes the observation, he said that the prophets and
patriarchs of the Jews actually knew that God was triune, and they knew he was gonna become incarnate. They knew this because we see this in the Book of Isaiah. So the Jews actually knew this, and this is why Christ was so harsh on the Jews, that when he came, you guys knew this.
The point being is, is that the fact that they apostatized and rejected, ultimately, God in the end, which is why they ceased being the chosen people.
He gave them one generation. So after Christ dies in the year seventy AD, the Romans destroy Jerusalem, and that's why none of the Jews are practicing their religion, because none of them are offering sacrifice.
And that's why they're so driven to rebuild the temple.
