FDA Monopoly and Pharmaceutical Funding

The, the issue is that, um, uh, that, uh, the FDA has

a monopoly, right? They act as the gatekeeper.

Yes.

And really what they're asking you to do are things that require an incredible

amount of money and resources-

Yes

... which only really big pharmaceuticals-

Yes

... are very well-healed biotech companies

have.

And, um, biotech,

big pharma, they often only wanna fund things that

are going to have

longevity. So cures are not good business.

So things that are like, "Oh, this fixes it," no so, not so good.

Um, if, if you came up with something where they'd

have to, like, constantly be

taking this drug for life,

they're a lot more excited about that.

Right, right, right.

So-

Well, and we don't know

... try to find the things that solve it-

Yeah, yeah

... without just curing.
