Erosion of Democracy in Romania

One country where democracy is being eroded is in Romania.

Elections were canceled when Calin Georgescu gained

popularity on TikTok because people resonated with the message he had.

He won the election, surprised everybody.

So what they did is cancel the election.

And it's heartbreaking to see now.

Now, the news for you, if you're not aware, Calin Georgescu,

the person

people wanted to be president, is being targeted now with lawfare.

He's actually in jail now. They went all the way to the last

stage, and that is to jail him. The same way they jailed Bolsonaro,

the same way

they tried to jail Trump, the same way they jailed Imran Khan,

they jailed Calin Georgescu. Well, George Simeon, the head of the

opposition party, is still fighting that fight for Calin

Georgescu to be out of jail and for Romania to return to being a

democracy or a functioning democracy.
