Have our ancestors failed us?

No.

Our ancestors did not fail us

for two or three reasons. Reason number one,

looking at the shock

of colonial invasion

and the militarization

and the academic preparation the colonial system had.

The explorers first-

Mm ... missionaries next,

mercenaries,

then business community.

Well orchestrated.

The David Livingstones and the Cecil John Rhodes, they

were just walking around

with diaries. Oh, wow. Wonderful. Yeah.

Victoria Falls. "Oh, please, can you show me around?" "Oh, well,

gold mines." "Okay, fine." "And that's our Mangara iron ore

and

fine asbestos." "Oh, oh, these stones. What are they?

Oh, oh, wow." And they were just walking around innocently.

The next group that came, the missionaries.

Sounds like I'm begging church, isn't it? Yeah.

You know what I mean? And just before we said amen-

... the guns and barrels started blasting- Yeah ...

behind our backs. And now we were told already,

"Give them the other cheek.

Now, don't worry about being killed.

Don't, don't worry about those that kill the flesh.

Worry about Him who kills the spirit." You're already dealing with the people

that

are psychologically defeated. And of course, after that,

business then takes over.

You're asking me, did our forefathers fail us? Yeah.

Very deep question.

Number one, they survived

that trauma.

They survived. Yeah. I think actually some of them became

Christian

because the system- Yeah ... mandated it. Mandated, yes.

And they just have to- Mm ... wiggle their way in there to survive
