Debate on Israel and British Politics
I mean, I can't get inside Zac's head and speak to that, but I think he's been
really clear that no state has the right to exist if that
inherently means-
You are-
... the displacement of another people. It's about that dynamic.
But-
And it's like trying to keep the focus on what's happening that, that shouldn't be
happening
... Rachel, you are his deputy.
I am.
And he is actively effectively not defending
Israel's right to exist, which is offensive to the hundreds of people
that live in
the council that you're the deputy, sorry, the leader of.
So the fact that you've got people in your own area that will be, that are
effectively represented by you and the party that you are deputy leader
of is effectively calling for the state of Israel to be wiped off of a map.
It's so offensive to British Jews, but also at a time
when British Jewish community
is so up against it at the moment. There was an opportunity for some people
in your
party to show some real leadership. Your leader wasn't there.
To be fair, he's always been very weak as a leader.
I've never taken Zac Polanski seriously.
The Green Party, sadly, as a brand, is very damaged.
Nothing to do with actually the last 24 hours.
More to do with the fact that you don't talk about the Green Belt,
you don't talk
about sewage in the rivers, you're obsessed with Gaza,
you're obsessed with
everyone else-
Absolutely not-
... but the British people
... I talk about water and sewage in the rivers all the time.
In fact, we're calling for-
But when I was in Crowborough, I was in your own, I
was in your own council area
just a few weeks ago in Crowborough, speaking to women who are scared to walk
around Crowborough-
Oh
... because of the migrant camp. Why don't you talk about women's safety?
You're all obsessed with the Israeli problem.
I talk about women's safety-
You can't, you can't shout at her for not talking
about green stuff enough and then
say, "But talk about something that's not
green."
From the party that wants-
The safety-
... to repeal the Equalities Act
... the safety of women and girls
