Emily Blunt's Hilarious Interview Moments
Get the guys, the roof's falling in!
I, you know.
Generally we get those kids medic-
I'm gonna smash your face in.
asked me things like, "Are you a habitual drunkard?"
And I said, "Well, I was last night."
And my lawyer was in the room and he was like
guard, suit your service. Ooh, wah.
Oopsy doopsy, I muffed it up again.
went, looked at me, and she went, "Nope." And I went, "Yes."
Whoa, mama be
like, whoa.
Most Hollywood stars carefully manage every word that leaves their mouth.
Emily Blunt has never once done that, and for over a decade, nobody around her
has survived it.
Amazing nurse who came in, and she looked at Hazel, she goes,
"Damn, your baby is so cute."
And I went, "Oh, really?" She went, "She is gorgeous." And I went, "Hey,
Mabel, I
think you say that to all the mothers." And she went, "No, I don't."
She said, she said, "When I know a baby ugly, I say,
'You had a baby.'"
This is how Emily Blunt opens interviews: not with a talking point, not with a
rehearsed answer. With this.
Someone's motioning something to me over
there.
He was like this.
On the set of Edge of Tomorrow, Emily Blunt decided she wanted to do her
own car
stunt. Tom Cruise was in the passenger seat.
He did not know what was about to happen.
So we start, I tear down this path, and Tom's being very quiet
behind me, and suddenly I just hear him un-
under his breath as I approach the
right-hand turn, I hear him going, "Brake, brake, brake.
Brake."
"Brake, brake, brake, brake, brake, brake, brake. Oh, God.
Oh, God, Em, brake, brake, brake, brake. Oh, Em, brake! Brake the car!
Brake the car!" And I left it too late, and so drove us
into a tree.
And I almost killed Tom Cruise. And then-
Oh my God
... yeah.
I can't believe this was even allowed to happen.
And literally in my head I was thinking, when I first heard him say, "Brake," in my
head I went, "Oh, shut up," you know.
As if I thought I knew more about stunt driving than Tom Cruise.
Yeah.
But I obviously was like, "He knows nothing."
He knows nothing. He needs to say, "Oh, yeah."
I've got this.
I've got this.
Her husband was writing the most terrifying horror movie of the decade at
the top
of the house. She was filming the most magical musical in
Hollywood
downstairs. This is what dinner conversation looked
like.
We decided to rent a house, and actually John
was writing Quiet Place while I was
shooting this beautiful, magical film.
He was in, like, the depths of hell- ... at the top of the house.
While you were Mary Poppins-ing-
Yeah
... he was w- writing this terrifying movie.
He was just birthing this hideous-
Wow
... you know, frightening movie. So I'd come home from work and be like,
"I danced with penguins," and he was like, "I killed a kid on
page four."
Jimmy Fallon thought the whisper challenge would be a safe game.
Emily Blunt said one word, and he immediately regretted every
decision that led to
this moment.
Blooming.
Bobi.
Blooming. La-
Bloom.
Blooming? Bloomin'.
I don't wanna say what I think you're saying.
It can't be that.
Bloomin'.
Blow me.
Lumin.
Luminaria.
Yes!
When you had these headphones on, I swear to God, I'm like,
"I'm not saying that."
And you were, like, saying it slower, like...
I was like, "Blow me."
Yes, yes. You, yes.
She drove down Sunset Boulevard with a flat tire for so long the wheel was
grinding metal against concrete.
