Analysis of Audio Recording Technology
Here's the dog that didn't bark.
Where's the damn mic? Where is it? Where-- That mic
does two things.
That mic broadcasts a Wi-Fi signal
that goes presumably to one of the cameras that's running.
It sends that feed right into the camera so that they stitch up the video and the
audio stitch up together. But it also records a
thirty-two-bit float file on the device
itself in case the Wi-Fi fails.
That piece of evidence, that file would be
absolutely vital in either proving that the shot came
from where they said it came from
or disproving it. That file is an
incredibly powerful piece of evidence, not only because it
records the sound from the precise location of
Charlie's body, but because
thirty-two-bit float contains a tremendous amount of
resolution. In other words, the amount that could be recovered from
that file that would allow you to do a detailed sonic analysis
is tremendous. So the question is, maybe they
have it, maybe they've analyzed that file, but we've heard nothing about it.
And
I don't know what to make of glass shards.
I don't know what to make of the disturbance of the shirt.
But I do find the absence of that device utterly
conspicuous, and it hasn't gotten enough attention,
in my opinion,
maybe because people assume it exploded
