Innovative Cancer Detection Technology
Melanie and Bill, what I'm holding in my hand is the cure
for cancer. And the cure is not in the syringe,
cure is in the needle. So what this needle has is the
result of $100 million in grants-
Wow
... over the last 10 years. These engineers took a
coronary stent that millions of people are walking around with,
and they fabricated electronics.
And inter- instead of putting it in the coronary
arteries,
we can put it in a vein in your arm. It
creates an electrical field inside the stent so
that anything which passes through the stent causes impedance of
electricity, which is picked up as a signal.
And since we know that the cancer cells are larger than any
blood cells which are normal, this device can detect the cell,
and guess what? Sounds like science fiction, but it isn't.
It can electrocute the cell on the spot.
Wow.
