Jerusalem as a Symbol of Unity

Psalm 122 describes Jerusalem as a city bound

firmly together.

This is the city of unity, the city that united the

tribes of Israel, that links this world to the kingdom

of heaven.

And of course, it is the first of five formative cities

preceding Athens, Rome, London,

and Philadelphia

that unite the great civilization of freedom and human flourishing

that we call the West.

And so Jerusalem is the perfect place for conservatives

from across the West to gather this week so that we

too can unite.
