Impact of MICA Regulations on Crypto
Crypto is dead. Yes, crypto as you used to know it, is now dead. And the date, the official
date for this is July 1st, 2026. MICA is in full effect in Europe, which means the European
government is basically destroying 92% of the entire crypto industry in Europe. So you
might say, oh, but that's more of a European thing. Wait until you watch this video to
the end, because I will explain to you why this is going to affect each other part of
the world. And then also the funny thing about it is that there is still an opportunity.
So while this era of crypto that we have known is going to an end on July 1st, 2026, a new
one is being born and it's just going to grow bigger and faster and you need to position
yourself to it. So what is the MICA regulations?
The micro regulations are basically a set of regulations that are regulating the European market or the EU
For as far as crypto is concerned
So currently the way exchanges and custodians and all these crypto companies have been operating
You would have to get a license in different countries in Europe in Germany
Then you go to Italy and so on this time around the EU which is meant to do this has consolidated all of that
Into one regulator and you need to get a license from Micah to be able to regulate so what has happened is this
European countries went so hard and so many crypto platforms
Especially the big ones and then the smaller crypto platforms started popping up left and right without any license whatsoever
They were still doing billions in volume and it was great for the good business for them
But this now will be put to stop because as long as you don't have this Mica license in Europe
You are not allowed to operate what so ever
So if you're using any of the exchanges that do not have this Mica license
Which you more likely are because it's only a few that have this Mica license
Let me give you an example of how bad this is Binance
Do not have a Mica license. They applied for it, but it has not been granted yet
So on July 1st, it means that whether you applied for it as long as you don't have the license granted to you
You are not allowed to operate in Europe
There are no exceptions and there is no deadline extension extensions as far as the regulator is concerned
So what is more likely to happen if you have trades on these platforms?
They're more likely going to get forced closed
or you get an email from any of these exchanges
telling you to withdraw your funds
and they might redirect you to another platform.
The safest thing to do once you know
if the platform you're using is not MICA licensed,
it's to act now.
Close your own positions right now
before they force close you
and move your funds to platforms that are MICA regulated.
So you'll have to do your research,
but Crypto University wrote an article
in the list of exchanges that are authorized
with MICA licenses and those that don't.
So you can go and check it out and act accordingly.
Now, what does it mean to use a MICA regulated platform?
It just means that the exchanges are going to suck so much.
Have you used Coinbase lately?
You use Coinbase or any of these regulated platforms
in Europe?
Every few days, the app is going to ask you to provide some documents, and it's going
to ask a bunch of questions, and whenever you receive crypto, you have to provide information
of where it's coming from.
Whenever you want to send, you need to provide a bunch of information.
It's just like a nightmare.
It's no longer crypto anymore.
It's something else, and this is what crypto is going to become.
Now, what that means is that everything you do in crypto will now be controlled by these
regulators.
They can control which tokens you should be buying, which ones you're not supposed to
be buying, and whenever you buy something they don't like, they will definitely make
a big deal about it or lock you out of your account.
They always do these kind of things.
Now, if you're not in Europe, you're like, oh, but that is Europe.
My country's okay.
It's not, because I will tell you, the only countries that matter, especially in the English
or French-speaking world, there is...
Europe, and there's America, and then there's China, and there's Russia, and then the rest
of the world are just anchors to these economies.
So you look at Africa, for example, most of the African countries, they don't think about
all these regulations of new technology, they just copy whatever Europe is doing, they do
it themselves at home.
Same with South America, Brazil doesn't really bother that much, or Uruguay and so on in
other countries, they just look at what Portugal is doing, or what the UK is doing, they're
colonial masters are doing, and then they just implement the same stuff.
So be aware that these regulations are coming to the door near you, pretty much.
Now, that is the end of crypto 1.0 as we used to know it.
It's not like the exchanges are not going to exist, but it's just going to become really
cumbersome to get to do anything freely, which is the exact opposite of why crypto was created.
Now, this is not the end of the game.
This is actually a new beginning, a beginning of an entire new game or a new era of cryptocurrency
that most people do not know.
This is now the era of DEXs, decentralized exchanges that do not care where you are in
the world.
The best they can do is restrict the country's IPs, and then you just need VPN to use them,
but they will never ask you for KYC, and they don't care where and who you are.
Platforms like HyperLiquid, platforms like Uniswap, and guess what?
A lot of all that money from your billions of dollars that were being traded in decentralized
exchanges will now flow over to DEXs, and guess what?
The value of DEXs becomes even more important.
Imagine HyperLiquid, which we have been talking about for a while already.
That's why I think HyperLiquid price is completely...
very low right now.
And you look at Uniswap also has a token and people have been sleeping on it for a while.
But it looks like we're entering an era of decentralization and privacy because right
now with all these micro-regulations, there's no privacy anymore.
So if you're paying attention to the narratives, you can see that we're entering an era where
privacy matters more.
More privacy points might make a comeback, Zcash, Monero.
So if you're a smart investor and you're looking at the whole bigger picture and you're like,
okay, look, crypto platforms are basically getting wrecked, they're just going to become
banks and boring.
The new area of opportunity and activity will be the DEXs and you need to get exposure in
that.
However you're going to do it is up to you because think of it this way.
There are people in Europe that have millions of dollars on Binance and they were doing
something simple as USDT liquidity mining or USDT yield mining, right, they just put
it there, they're earning interest.
Now they have to take that money out, put it into someone else, let's say on HyperLiquid
or any other DEX for that matter, or Uniswap.
That is a big deal, it's billions of dollars.
How do you get exposure to that?
I think you can invest in the tokens that are associated with these DEXs.
I think we'll definitely see a big run on DEXs.
There'll be more DEX-related coins will outperform the likes of BNB and all these centralized
exchange coins.
Now, another thing I can tell you, in Europe, as far as I know,
OKX is still able to operate, they have a MICA license.
A few years ago they changed their strategy, they were focused more on regulations to become
more regulated platform, instead of just growing and growing, and I think they made a smart
move.
So it's one of the few platforms that are still great, you know, in the top tier, the
top tier exchanges, and they're still MICA regulated.
So if you want, you can still use that, I have a link in the description to OKX.
If you sign up, at least use my link.
I think Bybit also still has their MICA.
I'll also put the link in there, if you already have Bybit, I don't think you have to worry.
But if you're using everything else, the odds are that you don't, they're not regulated,
and they will get kicked out of Europe.
But most importantly, train yourself to start using DEXs.
Personally, I'm now on the roll of buying DEXs.
hyper liquid tokens, buying Uniswap tokens, buying Apex tokens, and buying Zcash, Monero,
and all the privacy stuff. I'll be buying, dollar-cost averaging, and I'm just going to
be watching and I'll wait till the right moment. Let me know what you think in the comments,
but I just thought this was very, very important for you guys to know so that you can make the
right moves and you don't get caught up sleeping. Subscribe and follow if you haven't already.
That helps a lot with this page to grow. Appreciate you guys and see you later.
