One Piece and Mysterious Cities of Gold Comparison
One Piece has the most copying out of any of the big three.
Naruto took inspiration from Ninku, but built its own story.
Bleach took inspiration from Saint Seiya, but built its own story.
One Piece is a fan fiction of Mysterious Cities of Gold.
Luffy is a direct copy of Esteban. Esteban is known as the Child of the Sun.
In the past, he was saved by a famous sailor named
Mendoza, who was looking for the
mysterious City of Gold known as El Dorado.
Mendoza promised to take Esteban to the New World when he was ready, as
Esteban is a key to finding the lost city.
Mendoza is Esteban Shanks. Before departing, he gives Esteban an
amulet of a half-moon. The half-moon in Cities of Gold plays the
same role as the straw hat. Now, in One Piece, Luffy
is on a quest to become the
King of the Pirates by making it to Laugh Tale, a mysterious island that can only
be found by gathering the four Road Poneglyphs that can only be read by a very
select few, mainly Nico Robin. Oda took that entire
idea bar for bar from Cities of
Gold. To locate the city of El Dorado, four gold square glyphs
covered in ancient text must be read.
These texts can only be read by Zia, the last surviving member of her
race. Her island was destroyed because of their
knowledge.
And this entire journey is taking place on a highly advanced ship
with the
lion's head at the front, known as the Solaris.
The Solaris, the Sun, One Piece, the Thousand
Sunny. It's all coming together, right?
I literally already proved my point just covering the most basic things from
Mysterious Cities of Gold to show that One Piece is not original.
But I'll go even further to hammer the point home.
At some point on Esteban's journey, he gets captured by a tribe of all
women. These women are Amazonian. They live amongst snakes.
Didn't Luffy get sent to Amazon Lily,
a tribe of all women who worship snakes? Goda.
I could literally stop it right there because Oda copied Mysterious Cities of
Gold so hard to the point where I will actually spoil
aspects of One Piece by going any further, so let's do that.
Laugh Tale is probably hidden under Reverse Mountain.
You see, in Mysterious Cities of Gold, they were looking for El Dorado this
entire
time. It was in the center of the planet under
that rocky dome.
You see the way the rocky dome looks? It looks exactly like Reverse Mountain.
In Mysterious Cities of Gold, it opens up and it reveals the City of
Gold. I'm pretty sure Reverse Mountain is also going to open up.
After it opens up, a big war takes place, and what we find is
that the person guarding the door to get to the last place needed, the
last place Esteban has to go, the Child of the Sun,
is Esteban's father. Esteban's father was burned extremely bad,
so he wears a hood and he has a mask on. Looks a lot like Dragon, right?
He had the very last golden glyph that needed to be read so they can
reset the entire world, and from there we learn the true history
of what happened
to their world. In the past, a race of aliens came down from space.
They were looking for energy to expand their own civilization.
This turned into a big war between two highly advanced
civilizations. The first civilization was called Mu.
The second civilization was called Atlanta.
These two civilizations went back and forth in a nonstop war until
both civilizations figured out how to do nuclear fusion.
This led to a nonstop nuclear war that destroyed the world, and all of
the cities sank beneath the ocean.
However, what we find out is that all of these cities,
not just El Dorado,
all of their capitals were made out of gold.
What did we find out in One Piece? Shandora was a city made out of
gold.
Isn't Wano known as the Gold Country?
And doesn't it have a sunken city as well too?
I wonder if that city potentially is made out of gold or
has gold infused in it. Oh, look, a parrot.
I wonder where Oda got that idea from.
Isn't that theory becoming more true and true every chapter?
And that's where I'm gonna stop it at.
I actually don't want to spoil One Piece at all whatsoever
because he copied so much that if you watch
Mysterious Cities of Gold, you will feel like you spoiled yourself on
One
Piece. Besides the amount of fluff that he's added in between the
outline, he has not deviated one time from the
story that inspired his story.
There's a active Reddit thread that's about 12 years old
where there is an entire group of people that is literally
keeping track of this comparison.
It's almost like they try to sweep it under the rug that One Piece is
copying heavily from this, like, '70s or early
'80s anime.
Way much more so than Black Clover is ever accused of copying
Naruto or any other Shonen. I have watched this entire series.
It's available on YouTube, $1.99 an episode. It's 50 episodes.
It is egregiously copied, including these pictures.
Have a great day.
Peace out.
