Meeting with the Pope and AI Discussion
Him and I got to spend a few minutes, about 20, 25 minutes
one-on-one in my dining room.
And of course, I talked about the president,
I talked about a lot of the issues
we're working on. AI, we talked about, um, we talked about
his recent trip to Spain. We talked about when he's gonna come to
the US.
I told him when he comes, it will be the largest gathering of
Catholics in
the United States history, so he can't let me down.
But then he came outside and he walked out, and I had
some baseballs there, some Freedom 250, and he signed them.
I said, "Will you, will you sign these? I'd like to give them to a few people.
You might guess who I might give them to."
And, um, he said, "Let me add the date," July 4,
2026.
Um, so he, he knew. And what a gesture by this
pope, given everything that's happened, given the exchange
and all of the supposed controversies.
And if there's one thing I can leave you with tonight or today,
the media has it almost entirely wrong.
There are differences, but the amount of cooperation,
the amount of
closeness, the kinds of things the Holy Father said
to me at our
dinner,
um, I can't tell you how deep and, uh, the
affection, the closeness, the cooperation is.
Uh, and I am living it, and I did it in my own dining room.
So there's, there's-- I have a pretty-- on a pretty good authority.
So much so that when he left our dining room, we went
outside, he walked down the stairs, and my wife handed him a
flag, and my kids had sparklers, and he waved an American flag and
sang God Bless America.
So I'll leave you with that.
