Core Workout Plank Variations

Fuck.

Here's thirteen of my favorite plank variations that can make your core work a

little bit more enjoyable. If you have a furniture slider,

move it out and back.

The further you go, the harder your core has to work to stay

balanced.

Do your plank on top of a BOSU ball, and instantly you'll feel it becomes much

harder to limit tipping side to side.

Now, using a stability or Swiss ball is one of my favorite variations.

Arms long or elbows bent, doing stir the pot,

you'll feel your core burning like

crazy. If you have a dumbbell or kettlebell, just picking it up

and moving it side

to side is a greater challenge. Don't have a weight?

Just tap your opposite shoulder and even hold it for a few seconds.

There's also simple-looking variations like moving from your hands down to your

elbows that appear easy but will light up your core

if done correctly.

Or you can do variations where your legs are moving.

Make sure to keep your core braced and not allow any tipping as your legs

move side

to side or raise up and down in the air.

Another one of my favorites is where you keep your elbows in contact

with the

ground and just walk your feet back.

And the last two are bird dog plank variations.

See if you can hold that extended position for five to ten

seconds.

And if you're up for a greater challenge, have your stance leg up in a suspension

trainer, a very difficult variation.
