Sener’s alternative to the Bernabéu’s retractable pitch

The Bernabéu's retractable pitch has become outdated and the exclusivity it once boasted is

completely gone.

Florentino even said, "it's my invention."

Well, now this invention only serves to damage the pitch and to require painting it, as you can see

around here.

Because it's true that Madrid had an exclusivity clause with Sener, the engineer

who built this retractable system, so that for about thirty years only they could use it and

if anyone else used it, they would have to pay Madrid.

But now Sener has invented a very similar but alternative system that better

takes care of the pitch and avoids that exclusivity clause.

The move now is for a platform to come out above part of the stands, likewise creating

the covering of the pitch and laying a floor to organize any

An event on top, but with the turf underneath.

Allowing you, as we've seen at the Camp Nou or at construction sites, to have the turf planted

with its aeration, ventilation and irrigation system, and soil with a nutrient-rich substrate on top

and finally the turf installed and planted in soil and not on metal sheets.

Who would think that planting turf on metal or on parquet is going to

grow?

It's extremely expensive to maintain that.

The system has cost hundreds of millions, no one else is going to use it, Madrid no longer

gets any benefit from exclusivity, it shows there are much better alternatives and the fact is that

not even the clause in the contract with the engineer does you much good anymore.

An engineer who has used your pitch to learn and to develop a better system

from which you do not benefit.
