Investigation into Nursing Home Incident

So back in July, I met with, uh, Bridget here.

This is Bridget and Bridget here, and I met with them and had a discussion

about what had happened in Belleville, Ontario, at The Pearl, which is a

nursing home not too far where I grew up.

We had a conversation about what happened to her grandmother, um, and we

felt strongly after hearing that that

the doctor did not act in good faith.

Now, that's not an accusation, that's just the alleged how the family

felt.

So I was so lucky I got to sit down and write up her story, and we

were able to

bring that forward. Several people spoke with her, and it's so

incredible because she and her family took it to the next steps.

They went to the Ontario coroner, they went to the College of

Physicians, and they went to the police in Belleville.

And as of now, this, uh, family and

her grandmother are not just going to be another MAID victim.

The granddaughter took it all the way there, pushed incredibly hard,

and now it is

under police investigation. So to the MAID doctors that love

to do this for a living,

it's not always legal. We know that for a fact, and there definitely

are people

that are gonna keep pushing to make sure that you're held accountable.

So

yes, this is a huge win, and I'm so grateful to get to spend

time with her granddaughter, and I'm so grateful

that I got to tell this story, and

I'm so grateful that the Belleville police are doing the right thing

here.
