The Spiritual Cost of Pornography

Porn is a spiritual suicide, isn't it?

The ancient origin of the word

pornography actually means prostitution.

The secret spiritual religions actually calls it selling your soul.

That alone should cause a smart person to stop it, but we go deeper.

Porn is one of the few addictions that ask you to trade your purpose for a few

seconds of pleasure and leaves you feeling emptier

just a few seconds after. But hey, we're not ready for this conversation, right?

After all, it's a joke nowadays. Every man does it.

The most dangerous part isn't even that it's everywhere. It's that it's free.

At least you think that it's free.

But the price is your soul.

Because if something this powerful is being given away for free,

you have to ask yourself. What is the real price?

Maybe it isn't money.

Maybe it's your attention,

your discipline, your ability to love, your view of woman,

your relationship with God,

piece by piece, until you no longer recognize the man that you were

created to become.

So yes, the price is your soul.

Porn doesn't just consume your time.

It trains your brain to chase novelty over commitment,

fantasy over reality,

instant gratification over sacrifice.

It slowly weakens every quality that makes a man strong.

Self control, patience,

purpose, real intimacy.

Jesus say once that whoever looks at a woman with lust has already

committed adultery in his heart. Why?

Because every battle is won or lost long before the body moves.

It begins in the mind.

If you're a man,

pay even closer attention to what I'm about to say to you.

The masculine heart longs for challenge,

purpose, and victory.

When that desire isn't directed towards building a life,

you will search for an easier reward that it can find.

Porn always offers an easy route to victory, imaginary victory,

by the way, because we both know that there's nothing victorious about a man

ruled over by his sexual desires.

This isn't you against the website, my friend.

This is a battle over your mind, your character,

and the man that you're becoming.

I think that your soul is worth guarding with a

little bit more care and respect.

After all, this is the only thing that will live forever.

With God, or with the other guy downstairs.
