Current Situation in Southern Lebanon
What is the current reality on the ground in southern Lebanon?
Let's break it down.
IDF troops are deployed along the security zone,
a security line permitted under the ceasefire agreement
located a few kilometers from Israel's northern border.
Its objective is clear, to prevent Hezbollah from continuing to entrench itself
near the border and from threatening Israeli civilians.
Reminding you that since March 2nd, 2026,
over 10,000 missiles, rockets and drones have been launched toward Israel and IDF troops.
Despite the ceasefire, Hezbollah continues to violate it daily,
targeting our forces and causing casualties and making clear it has no intention of stopping.
In response,
we act in self-defense, targeting terrorists approaching our troops in accordance with the ceasefire.
We have also uncovered many terrorist infrastructures and weapons in the area,
including in schools, children's bedrooms,
hospitals and even ambulances.
This is the reality on the ground.
Hezbollah remains the core problem in southern Lebanon for both Israelis and Lebanese alike.
