Imam Khomeini’s Messages and Predictions on War and Defense

I wish I could read the Imam's message

with the beauty with which the Imam expressed it.

They also

gave society a sense of danger, and gave it to

the country as well, and to each of us, they

advised us. They told

society that today is not a day

for hesitation. Hesitation today

will bring about a disastrous

tomorrow.

They told each of us, "My children, today

you must don the armor of jihad

and martyrdom."

And the beautiful words the Imam,

regarding these events, reminded all

of us of. The Imam spoke of the Mecca incident before

arriving in Mecca, in his message.

The Iraqi invasion, the American invasion,

the Imam announced at the beginning

of his arrival in Iran.

From the time the Imam came to Iran, everyone said

that the very meaning of the word Islam is peace, is greeting,

is the end of military presence.

Based on this reasoning,

based on this very claim, many of

these dishonorable people, like Bazargan, came forward.

He canceled many purchase contracts

we had for planes we had bought.

He said, "We don't want them. What are we going to do with them?

Change the whole issue of the F- 14s."

Change it.

What are we going to do with these?

On that day, the Imam said our country has 20

million riflemen.

Do you remember?

This Imam, from the start of the Revolution until now,

has made these predictions for us,

told us that the important thing is that you fulfill

your duty.

The important thing is that you be certain.

The important thing is that you

not be hesitant.
